DMX technology in lighting: advanced control for every environment

DMX512, often shortened to DMX (Digital MultipleX), is a digital communication standard used primarily for stage lighting control in the entertainment industry, to control numerous lights and effects from a control desk.

DMX technology (Digital MultipleX)

Recently, it has also been introduced in the civil sector for architectural lighting. Even the world of swimming pools has been touched by this technology in fact when we speak of colour changing lights we often fall back on this protocol. It is right to specify that the use of this signal becomes indispensable only when one wants to obtain complete control of each individual lamp, to create different zones, to customise the colours, adjusting hues and intensities, or to integrate the lighting with domotic systems present in the installation.

In the specific case of Teclumen products, DMX models use 5 cables: 2 for the 12 V AC (alternating voltage) power supply and 3 for the signal. No external drivers are required as they are integrated inside the lamp. If the need is only to change the colour of the entire pool, you can easily opt for the 2-wire power supply models, thus simplifying connections.
