Why it is important

Although the lighting of a swimming pool is the aspect that least affects the cost of the work, it is the one that most affects the effect of the pool at night.
In the past, only two types of products were used for pool lighting: the 300W PAR56 for deep and large areas and the 50W floodlight for small or shallow areas. It is impossible to have forgotten the yellow cone of light and the shadows created by these types of luminaires.

Designing pool lighting

Today, with the arrival of LED technology, the situation has completely changed both from an energy point of view and in terms of the final effect.
Thanks to the opening of the LED light beam (about 120°), it is possible to eliminate shadow areas by uniformly illuminating the entire pool. Within the pool context there are other aspects to be considered besides the introduction of LEDs. Today, pools with irregular shapes and non-standard dimensions are in demand. Then there is the presence of dark coverings or at least alternatives to the traditional blue cloth. Even the presence of functional elements such as stairs, whirlpool areas and bathing areas have introduced further elements that must necessarily be taken into account during the design phase. For all these reasons, it is easy to understand how the design of a swimming pool, and in particular the lighting system, is of fundamental importance today.

Teclumen uses Dialux software, the most widely used software in the world for lighting design. It is free of charge for the end user (architect, designer, light designer, etc.) and through the use of the photometric curves of the products it allows you to create a real simulation of the pool lit up at night. The final renderings are very realistic and can be used at the sales stage to make the customer experience the emotion of the final result.

Contact our technical department as soon as possible to schedule a free Dialux course that will enable you to be autonomous in designing lighting inside swimming pools or fountains in just 3 hours.
